I like the idea of having 80/20 color in most rooms of the house. In my case a Mid-Century home that needed brightening with many traditional 60's palettes covering the walls in the home. For the kitchen's black and white aesthetic I used 20% red to pull out the classic American look. The living room was predominately neutrals, I used my favorite chartreuse color to pull it all out and tie it together. Here's a quick sign I made with Illustrator.
